Long story short, I took Skip Fantry (luthier of Knuckle Guitar Works) up on a deal; a very reasonable price and a whole lot of leeway on creating a custom bass in his new Cascadia line.  The “deal” is that it’s done when he gets around to it.  Me being the relatively patient person I am figured this was a good idea, and thus far Skip hasn’t dissapointed.

I don’t want to give too much away, but he’s working on an 8 string (F# B E A D G C F) multi-scale (fanned frets) with several innovations that have us both quite excited.  He’s mentioned debuting it at NAMM at some point, though it all depends on when it actually gets done.  I look forward to working with him on what will be a way cool intrument.
